The Community Care Access Centre of Peel (CCAC of Peel) is an agency administered by a Board of Directors appointed by the Province of Ontario and funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. We provide residents of Peel with a single access point to community-based services, long-term care placement and information and referral services in Peel. The CCAC of Peel is a non-profit organization which enables people of all ages to access health care and personal support services, to help them live independently or with their families in the community. The CCAC helps clients and their family members learn about long-term care facilities, guides them through the application process, and also serves as a central source of information and referral to other community health agencies and support groups. A logo has been created for the CCAC, designed by a local artist, Michael Dywelska, who donated his time and talent. Against a blue and green background, it consists of a stylized person holding a telephone. The background represents the compass points and signifies that our service is multidimensional and goes out to everyone, everywhere in Peel. The combined effect of blue and green symbolize hope and an improved quality of life; the combination also symbolizes the partnership of clients, providers, and community services. The centre of the logo is the caring attitude and the care delivery - symbolized by the person's body being in the shape of a heart. The person and the phone at the core of the logo symbolize the way service is accessed and the compass point background is meant to portray the motion of service going out to all of Peel.
